Dr. Brooks is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Educator Preparation at Texas State University’s College of Education. The College of Education has an enrollment of 4,479 undergraduate and graduate students spread across three departments: Curriculum and Instruction, Health and Human Performance, and Counseling, Leadership, Adult Education, and School Psychology. Prior to being promoted to this position, she served as the Assistant dean for Academic Affairs and Student Success. This page includes highlights about various initiatives that she has overseen.

In a celebration of education and aspiration, the College of Education recently hosted the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) Area 3 Conference. This event, which drew participants from over 30 central Texas schools, including San Marcos and Round Rock High School, showcased the dedication and talent of over 480 future teachers.
