Dr. Maneka Brooks is the Dean of the College of Education and Professor of Education Licensure at Portland State University, where she leads academic planning, faculty affairs, program growth, and regional partnerships while fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and shared governance. Her work as a researcher, which examines how everyday educational practices shape the experiences of bilingual adolescents with recent publications in TESOL Quarterly and other leading journals, directly informs her leadership. Dr. Brooks earned her PhD in Educational Linguistics from Stanford University Graduate School of Education, a M.A. in Secondary Bilingual Education and B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from Loyola Marymount University.
